Inflatable light balloons: size, lighting and installation

A practical guide to diameter, RGBW LEDs, DMX control, suspension and custom branding.

Define the role

A light balloon may work as a visual landmark, atmospheric feature or genuine light source. The required brightness, membrane and position depend on that role.

Choose the scale

Diameter is assessed against viewing distance, ceiling height, circulation and the desired visual hierarchy. Several sizes can create a richer composition than one dominant volume.

Plan the lighting

RGBW LEDs combine a clean white with programmable colours. DMX control is suitable for shows and events; simpler installations can use local control.

Engineer the installation

Suspension, telescopic stand or floor placement each require specific attachment, stability, power and public-safety planning.
