A monumental printed inflatable cake fabricated by JC Keller for Dior, with art direction by Manon Everhard.
The project
The brief and the finished object
For a Dior installation conceived by Manon Everhard, JC Keller fabricated a printed inflatable cake. The enlarged slice combines a curved volume with the recognisable layers and strawberry motifs of a fraisier cake.
Shape and printed detail
The work brought together development of the silhouette, preparation of the printed motifs, fabrication and assembly. Inflation and adjustments on set completed the object for photography. Sponge, cream and strawberry details remain visible across the enlarged form.
